The official version of Wreckage will be released on May 4th, 2010. CDs will be available through a few online stores, as well as from the Tsui website. You may also download the entire album for free or purchase it on itunes once it’s released.

If you participated in the weekly singles downloads back in December, you should download the re-mastered version online now as Adrian over at Timeless Master did a wonderful job. So it Goes, Gravity and Something Missing have also been re-mixed.

I know, I know… It’s been a very long time since we last talked. I’ve missed you all so much and am glad to be back. I have some good news, some bad news, and then some more good news.

We are just about done with Tsui’s second full length album Wreckage and have decided to release it in the coming weeks over the internet. We will be releasing two songs a week starting in November as A and B side singles in mp3 format. This will be followed by a limited release compact disc in January 2010. I will also be playing a limited number of acoustic shows to support the release. We are very happy to finally share this record with our fans and our friends.

The bad news is that the band as it has been for the past two years has parted ways. This is partly to do with the fact that our drummer Jeremy had a lovely young girl in August and no longer has the time to play in two bands full time. It also had to do with my decision to move from Boston back to New York City, where I now live. I feel incredibly fortunate that we got to write and record this album together and how we now have something to show for all of our hard work. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

The other goods is that our guitarist for the past year and a half, Arto Payaslian (known to the writing world as Arto Vaun) has had one of his poems selected for High Commendation by the Forward Prize as one of the best poems published in the UK in 2009. His first book Capillarity can be purchased through Carcanet Press which you should do after finishing reading this.

Jen and Jeremy have finished up an EP with their other band Birds Make Birds. For the time being the best way to purchase it is at one of their live shows, though you can listen to the songs on their website.

I will be sending out information in the next couple of weeks on how you can sign up to receive the mp3 singles. The best way to ensure that you do is to join our mailing list.

Just wanted to spread the word that we are playing this Sunday March 29th at TT The Bear’s in Cambridge Ma with Philadelphia’s The War On Drugs. I believe we take the stage around 9pm. Should be a great night of music all around.

We have begun recording the follow up to our 2007 debut release, Half Man Army. We’ve laid down almost all of the drum tracks at the very beautiful Q Division studios in Somerville Massachusetts. I’ve been recording acoustic guitar at home and am very pleased about how it’s starting to shape up. We are hoping to release it early next year as a free download, though are thinking of setting up a donation system for those of you who would like to offer some support financially.

It’s been really excited watching how our first record has been received as a free download as we approach 3000 downloads–which is really not bad for a band with next to no promotion or any real industry support. Word of mouth is showing to be a powerful way to get our music out there. We are very, very excited about the new record so please help us by spreading the word.

We hope to have some rough mixes up by the end of the summer, so please check back in. We’ll try to keep you updated as much as possible.

We will be playing two shows this week in Boston and in New York respectively. We’ll be at TT The Bears on Wednesday, then will be playing City Breathing’s record release at Monkey Town in Williamsburg Brooklyn on Saturday.

We are very excited about both of these shows so please try and make it out if you can.
